Dear Bill,

As you know for many years we have been looking for someone to do restoring and resilvering of our lovely old silver pieces. As you are also aware the quality of silverware being produced now is very poor, by comparison to earlier pieces, not to mention the staggering cost of replacement pieces.

During the last year we have resilvered almost all of our serving pieces here and the cost, while not cheap, was far cheaper than replacements and they now have up to 3 times the weight of silverplate on them, than replacements would have. At the foot of this letter I will put Don Thompson's address. If any of your hotels have a need, they could send some sample pieces to Don to try first-hand his service. They will not tackle cutlery as the labor involved with such small pieces makes it too costly. During the last year Don has refinished 475 pieces for us from massive trays to sauce-boats and they all came back looking terrific. Some of the pieces we sent had been taken out of use years ago and looked as though they had been attacked by a Mack Truck. Don is also manufacturing a few pieces at excellent prices, he also buys lovely old
pieces from Hotel sales, which he restores. We bought some beautiful cake stands and chafing dishes recently at far less than we could buy for today's prices.
